LaDainian Tomlinson ()

There's not much I can tell you about last season that you don't already know about LaDainian Tomlinson. He's the reigning NFL MVP and he set the single season record for touchdowns with 31 combined rushing and receiving TDs. Hands down, LT is the best player in the game and he'll go number 1 in your fantasy draft no matter what. We're talking about a guy who can do it all. He obviously can carry the rock and he's a tremendous receiver out of the backfield. Although it doesn't have any fantasy bearing in most leagues, LT will probably even throw a few touchdown passes in 2007. I know that some of you are worried about Tomlinson having a down year after the eye-popping '06, so let me delve deeper into his NFL career to date.

LT has been the epitome of production as he enters his 7th NFL season. His worst rushing total in 6 prior seasons was 1236 rushing yards as a ROOKIE! He also had his lowest rushing TD total (10) as a rookie as well. In his subsequent 5 seasons he's had 1300+ rushing yards and 13+ rushing TDs. By no means is LT one-dimensional either. He has had over 50 receptions every year of his career and he's had at least one receiving touchdown each season except for when he was a rookie.

If you're lucky enough to get the top pick in your fantasy draft, take LT without even thinking. Don't be stupid and mistakenly talk yourself into thinking he'll have a let-down in '07. The man is a fantasy point-producing machine. As if you needed anymore incentive, new head coach Norv Turner is indicating that LT will have an even larger role in the passing offense as well this year. Finally, the number 1 reason that Tomlinson will be the best player in fantasy football again.....he turned down the Madden '08 cover and will thus avoid the jinx!

2007 Projected Stat Line: 1659 rushing yards, 22 rushing TDs, 73 receptions, 614 receiving yards, 4 receiving TDs

Lets debate LT's value in the forums!
