I enjoyed readin and agreed w/ most of the preview but don't agree w/ the brownies finishing 4th in the afc north or a 7-9 record- I see the brownies at least splitting the afc north games and winning most of the games ag. oakland, miami, houston, arizona, ny jets, buffalo and San Fran.
splitting the afc north games will give 3 wins and if they take 5 of the 7 games listed- that's 8 wins- I think the browns are 1 of the most improved teams in the nfl if not the most improved.
looking over schedule I think this could be a breakout yr for the brownies- I think jamal could run over teams behind our new line and if the qb play is good we will be scary-
Very pleased and happy w/ savage- who knew a good gm was this important
I think 9 wins are very possiblehere's how I think the schedule could go---
Week Opponent
1 Pittsburgh- not sold on the new coach & think Pissburg will underestimate the brownies- we start 1-0
2 Cincinnati- rolling from a season opener win- we also win ag. cinn with the convicts realing from all their "issues"
3 @Oakland- k. wimbley plants dante in the ground and back on ir
4 Baltimore-
5 @New England- it's ne, if we play close I'll be happy- ne is the team to see how you stack up ag the best
6 Miami- if we dont win this I'll be shocked- when does miami play in england? jetlag?
7 BYE
8 @St. Louis- this is a possible win I didnt include earlier but bulger and s.jackson concern me
9 Seattle- tough game is the seahawks are playing well
10 @Pittsburgh
11 @Baltimore
12 Houston- should be an easy win but have thought that before only to be dissapointed
13 @Arizona- will matt lienhart play to potential, will edge have poor season like last year
14 @NY Jets- we play well ag. the jets- does mangenius have an edge?
15 Buffalo- will be hurt losing takeo & magahee, will be another mediocre yr for the bills
16 @Cincinnati
17 San Francisco- think losing norv will hurt the offense but sf may be the most improved team in nfl
Season Prediction:
The Browns are a much better team than they were last season, but they still have a long way to go. While you can’t totally rule out the playoffs this early (as we saw with the Saints last year), this team really struggles against divisional foes and until that changes the Browns will remain in the AFC North cellar. Cleveland should improve enough to help Crennel keep his job, but a truly successful season for them would be to finish at .500.
Projected Finish
7 Wins, 9 Losses (4th in the AFC North)
