Welcome to the Studs & Duds section from RobinSports.com. Each week, we will examine the prime time players alongside the toilet bowl floaters for your enjoyment from the past weeks action. We will be giving out weekly awards to the best and worst performance all season. The awards are as follows:

Golden Egg Award - Players who stepped it up, really proved their worth, and likely propelled your team to victory.
Sea Pickle Award - Guys you just can't flush despite the fact that they stunk and left you in defeat.

Let's start with the studs: ie. THE GOLDEN EGGS

Golden Egg Award - Adrian Peterson, RB Min

Adrian Peterson - 296 RuYd, 3 RuTD (1,64,46), 19 ReYd, FL - Wouldn't you know it, the first player to win the inaugural RobinSports Golden Egg Award twice is..... A ROOKIE! I don't really know what to say here. We haven't seen a guy come into the league and dominate since, well... I don't think, ever! Peterson is not only leading the NFL in rushing yardage, but the closest guy to him (Willie Parker) is nearly 300 yards behind him. Unbelievable.

Honorable Mention:

Marshawn Lynch - 8 PaYd, PaTD (8), 153 RuYd, RuTD (56), 7 ReYd - One week after Peterson overtook Lynch as our top rookie for 2007, Lynch is trumped again by him. No matter though as this was a terrific game regardless of the competition. Lynch did it on the ground and through the air as he even chipped in a LT-like passing TD to make the stats even better. A near miss for the Golden Egg this week, but none-the-less, a solid effort.

Terrell Owens - 174 ReYd, ReTD (45) - T.O. earns an honorable mention for not only having a solid effort with 174 yards receiving and a TD, but for doing it against an Eagles club that was keying on him all day. The Eagles needed this game to stay in the playoff race, and T.O., who they all love...., shut the door in their faces. See you next season Philadelphia.

Clinton Portis - 196 RuYd, RuTD (1) - After playing solid, but not great, all season long, Portis finally looked like the Clinton of old rushing for nearly 200 yards against the Jets defense. Portis could be heating up at just the right time as he has managed to stay relatively healthy this season and might just be that key to a fantasy title for playoff contenders.

Drew Brees - 445 PaYd, 3 PaTD (2,8,4), 7 RuYd, FL - Brees has returned with a vengeance after a very slow start posting 21, 18, 37, and 33 FPTS over the past four weeks. That production is right up there with the NFL's elite where most thought Brees would be this week.

Jamal Lewis (37 RuYd, 4 RuTD (2,1,2,1), 67 ReYd)
Justin Fargas (104 RuYd, RuTD (1), 15 ReYd 19)
Joseph Addai (112 RuYd, 114 ReYd, ReTD (73))
- There was just too many solid performances this week in the running game to leave these guys out. Fargas came in and played well in the start. Addai went wild on New England. Lewis, while only having 37 yards, got 4 TD's. A nice shout out to all of them.

Now let's take a look at which players likely cost their teams' games during the week, perhaps caused you to swear a few times, maybe even brought ideas of quitting fantasy football all together to your head. Well let's not get too rash, but these guys certainly earned their respective spot on:

THE SEA PICKLES

Sea Pickle Award - Steve Smith, WR Car

Steve Smith - 15 ReYd - What a superb effort! Smith successfully LOWERED his receiving total this week from last by 3 yards. Who could even think that Steve Smith would be on your waiver wire, but that is truly where he belongs. I know you cannot drop him, but he is just a waste of space. We all know now that as Jake Delhomme goes, so does Steve Smith. Congratulations Steve, you are the first winner of not only two Sea Pickle Awards, but two consecutive ones to boot.

Honorable Mention:

Antonio Gates - 10 ReYd - I sure didn't think Gates would make this list, but a 10 yard performance against the worst pass defense will do that for a fellow. Gates never really even got into this game. We'll give you a pass this week AG, but don't you disappoint us again.

Travis Henry - 31 RuYd, 13 ReYd - Hurt or not, you play for Denver. Every Denver running back has over 100 yards every week. Henry should be ashamed of himself after this performance against a marginal defense at best.

Roy Williams - 44 ReYd - Has any receiver fallen further than Roy? Well, yes, Steve Smith has, but that is besides the point. Roy has nailed down 4 or less FPTS over the past 4 weeks. Word out of Detroit is that Fed Ex has a special package awaiting Roy, but it couldn't be delivered due to an apparent smell coming from the package. Hey, we tried...

Dallas Clark - 15 ReYd - Where has Clark gone? After looking like a rival to Antonio Gates for the top TE this season, Clark has disappeared the past two weeks. Has the loss of Harrison hurt him as teams can now game plan for Clark and Wayne? Perhaps, but is that an excuse? No. You better watch your Sea Pickle status Dallas.

Shaun Alexander - 32 RuYd, ReYd - Oh my! We give Shaun the benefit of the doubt and he rewards us with a phenomenal performance of 32 yards. Hooray! We are ashamed to have believed in you Shaun. Just so you know, you have sent most fantasy players home for the holidays as they have no chance of the playoffs.
