Welcome to the Studs & Duds section from RobinSports.com. Each week, we will examine the prime time players alongside the toilet bowl floaters for your enjoyment from the past weeks action. We will be giving out weekly awards to the best and worst performance all season. The awards are as follows:

Golden Egg Award - Players who stepped it up, really proved their worth, and likely propelled your team to victory.
Sea Pickle Award - Guys you just can't flush despite the fact that they stunk and left you in defeat.

Let's start with the studs: ie. THE GOLDEN EGGS

Golden Egg Award - Drew Brees, QB NO

Drew Brees - 336 PaYd, 4 PaTD (17,2,3,15) - Owners have been waiting all season for the old Brees to return to form. After a couple of decent weeks, Brees blew up against a relatively solid 49ers defense to the tune of 4 touchdowns and over 325 yards passing. Hallelujah rained down from the crowds! Nice work Drew! You earned yourself a golden egg award. Hopefully, the first of many?

Honorable Mention:

Joseph Addai - 100 RuYd, 2 RuTD (2,12), 9 ReYd, ReTD (4) - Addai was unstoppable against the Panthers. After the Panthers jumped out to a 7-0 lead, the Colts bunkered in and gave the Panthers a healthy diet of Addai. He responded with 100 yards rushing and 3 trips to the end zone. Addai has cemented himself as a top 5 fantasy back this season and for many to come.

Antonio Gates - 92 ReYd, 2 ReTD (49,31) - When you get almost 100 yards and 2 TD's from a TE, you usually win. With the position much thinner this season than many thought it would be, Gates has continued to be a monster. It's still early, but this guy is looking like a hall-of-famer already.

Braylon Edwards - 117 ReYd, 2 ReTD (12,5) - Wow! That is about all I can say. This kid has more than busted out this season. Edwards has become a top 10 fantasy receiver and a must start every week. He is the go-to guy in Cleveland even with the presence of Winslow. The Browns offense is fun to watch.

Tom Brady - 306 PaYd, 3 PaTD (2,6,2), 14 RuYd, 2 RuTD (3,2), FL - I'm not talking about Brady anymore. I'm just going to bold a spot in the honorable mention as this is just amazing what he is doing.

Hines Ward - 88 ReYd, 2 ReTD (21,6) - Ward put together a solid effort against their divisional rivals this week. Ward has been quiet this season as he has had a few nicks and bruises to deal with. Almost 90 yards and 2 TD's will quickly quiet any critics though as Ward was targeted often by Roethlisberger.

Marques Colston - 85 ReYd, 3 ReTD (17,3,15), FL - Sophomore slump? Fooee! Ok, so it was just one game, but what an effort by Colston. If Brees heats up, Colston is surely to follow! He is a big guy, with great hands, and could become a fantasy force during the second half of the season.

Now let's take a look at which players likely cost their teams' games during the week, perhaps caused you to swear a few times, maybe even brought ideas of quitting fantasy football all together to your head. Well let's not get too rash, but these guys certainly earned their respective spot on:

THE SEA PICKLES

Sea Pickle Award - Steve Smith, WR Car

Steve Smith - 18 ReYd - What a joke. We told you to trade him. We hope you listened. Smith is nearly worthless now without Delhomme. Vinny is 97 years old and Carr is a reject, so it is not entirely Smith's fault. But 18 yards? From a top 3 wide receiver. You're fired Smith just like the Sea Pickle you fired out on the field on Sunday...

Honorable Mention:

Eli Manning - 59 PaYd, 25 RuYd, RuTD (10), FL - Manning has been a strong contributor to fantasy clubs this season averaging around 13 FPTS per week. That is solid. What is not solid is the stool Manning left in London by passing for 59 yards!?! He gets a pass on the Sea Pickle because he ran in a Touchdown, but you better watch it Eli.

Vince Young - 42 PaYd, 11 RuYd - It may be time to cut ties with Young as he has shown no signs of life this season and is becoming a stable of the Pickle awards.

Plaxico Burress - 14 ReYd - Field conditions, shmield conditions... You can't be a number one receiver and throw up a stinker like this Plax! We will be watching you....

Lamont Jordan - 16 RuYd - The Titans smothered Jordan and the Raiders rushing attack all day. Jordan will have better days, but he better play harder than this as young Michael Bush has just been activated from the PUP list.

Matt Schaub - 16 RuYd - Ok look. We know Schaub got hurt, but he earns a spot here for trying to play when he shouldn't have. Fantasy football shows no forgiveness to misleading us players!
