Welcome to the new Studs & Duds section from RobinSports.com. Each week, we will examine the prime time players alongside the toilet bowl floaters for your enjoyment from the past weeks action. We will be giving out weekly awards to the best and worst performance all season. The awards are as follows:

Golden Egg Award - Players who stepped it up, really proved their worth, and likely propelled your team to victory.
Sea Pickle Award - Guys you just can't flush despite the fact that they reeked and left you in defeat.

Let's start with the studs: ie. THE GOLDEN EGGS

Golden Egg Award - Tom Brady, NE QB

265 PaYd, 3 PaTD (34,7,25) - Brady becomes the first player since Steve Young to open the season with 3 or more TD passes to start the first 5 games of the season. The numbers weren't astronomical against a weak Browns defensive unit, but Brady earns his first golden egg on the cumulative effort as he has been lights out thus far this season. Congratulations Tom. I just cannot wait for next week's Dallas - New England matchup. Can you?

Honorable Mention:

Ben Watson - 11 RuYd, 107 ReYd, 2 ReTD (7,25) - After we scorned Watson for being nothing more than a touchdown hawk who would not be reliable enough to start on a weekly basis, he explodes for 107 yards and 2 TD's. Go figure. The key take away from this game was the fact that Watson is Tom Brady's go to target. While Moss has done exceptionally well, Brady checks down quickly to Watson if he ever feels uncomfortable. Don't expect a TD per week, but Watson is now a #1 Tight End.

Kris Brown - 5 FG (54,43,54,20,57), XP - What the hell is a kicker doing on the Egg list?!? When you boot 5 FG's of which 3 are 50+ yarders and one game winning 57 yard field goal, you at least get a shout out for the Golden Egg. If there was a Golden Boot, Brown just took it home. What a performance! Brown likely propelled some teams to victory this week as most scoring systems credited him with 20+ fantasy points.

Redskins DST - 3 PA, 144 YDS, DTD (61), 2 Int, 5 SACK, STY - Oh great. Now a defense.. What are these awards coming to? Well, just take a look at the stats. I won't repeat them for time's sake, but you get the point. They didn't just do this against the Falcons either. No, it was against the high octane Lions. While the Skins likely helped a few squads who started them this week, they helped even more the teams who had to play against the likes of Kevin Jones, Jon Kitna, Roy Williams, and Calvin Johnson by straight up shutting them down. A+ effort!

Philip Rivers - 270 PaYd, 2 PaTD (9,15), RuTD (2) - Welcome to the 2007 season Philip. After a horrendous start to the year which saw many owners waiver as to whether they had blown an early pick on Rivers, he puts together a solid effort against a stingy Denver passing defense. Granted, the Broncos lost Bailey and Bly for parts of this game, but the real key was the fact that Norv Turner returned to the two back set that LT thrives in. As LT goes, so do Gates and Rivers. Well done Norv. It only took you 4 weeks...

Kenton Keith - 121 RuYd, 2 RuTD (1,7), 37 ReYd - What a performance by the former CFL player Kenton Keith as he got his first start of his career with Joseph Addai on the mend. Keith proved that not only is he a capable backup, but the Colts are flat out good and as long as Peyton is behind center, they will remain that way. Keith showed great explosion in getting through the line, but don't expect a lot this season as the job belongs to Addai without question.

Now let's take a look at which players likely cost their teams' games during opening week of the NFL Fantasy Season and earned their respective spot on: THE SEA PICKLES

Sea Pickle Award - Larry Johnson, KC RB

12 RuYd, 3 ReYd - 12 rushing yards? 12 rushing yards? 12 rushing yards? Seriously. As much as we talk, I really could have gotten 12 yards and I don't play football. Johnson has to be one of the biggest fantasy busts this season and perhaps over the past 5 seasons. It is still early, but those who spent a top 5 pick on him are likley reeling in the cellar of their conferences. 12 rushing yards? Johnson should have been working during the off season on his own and with his team instead of running his mouth about the coaches and whining about money. I suppose he at least got to run something this year, because it certainly isn't his legs. Larry, your Sea Pickly is already in the Fed-Ex drop box.

Honorable Mention:

Terrell Owens - 25 RecYd - Owens laid a real stinker on Monday Night against a pitiful Bills defense. This makes two weeks now that Owens has disappointed owners as he has amassed only 58 yards receiving. This week, Owens locker reads "Dear Reporters, Due to the magnitude of this week's game and high volume of questions for the Original 81 about the other 81. I will be taking all questions immediately following Sunday's game. Sincerely, T.O. P.S. Getcha Popcorn Ready." Well Terrell, another week like the past two and you better get your toilet bowl ready because we're mailing you your honorary Sea Pickle.

Vince Young - 157 PaYd, 3 PaInt, 27 RuYd - Vince needed a jumbo sized pooper scooper to clean up the mess he left for fantasy owners this week. Facing the Falcons, many owners sat more prominent QB's in favor of Vince and he throws out only 150 yards and completes 3 passes to the other team. I don't know about you, but white versus black jerseys is about as contrasting as it can get....

Jon Kitna - 106 PaYd, 2 PaInt, 3 RuYd - Jon. Jon. Jon. Were it not for LJ, you would have successfully earned a chunky monkey this week. How can you explain 100 yards passing and 2 INT's? The Redskins defense is serviceable, but it is not a top unit. The Lions simply forgot to show up to this game and Kitna and Co. cost their owners dearly. You have been warned, Jon.

Matt Hasselbeck - 116 PaYd, PaInt - An equally unimpressive showing from Matt Hasselbeck as the Steelers defense frustrated the QB all day long. Hasselbeck didn't disappoint as dearly as Kitna did because he was playing a tough Steelers squad, but 116 yards passing is simply bad, to put it nicely. Hasselbeck and the Seahawks will look to bounce back this week and that they should, but we will be watching you....

Shaun Alexander - 25 RuYd, 7 ReYd - 25 rushing yards is just terrible. Alexander has looked timid hitting the holes and perhaps age has caught up to the former NFL rushing champion. At 30, he has to have a season or two left, at least you would think. This was his lowest output since he joined the Seahawks in 2002. Maybe this is just a one week stinker. Let's hope so.
