11 Brown, Ronnie RB MIA 242 1005 4.2 5 33 276 8.4 0 3 154
Brown was a slight disappointment in his sophomore season as he was projected last year as a 1st round pick. He played more like a 3rd to 4th round back. With the arrival of Cam Cameron, Brown will surely improve. Take a look at what LT did last season if you have any questions. Brown will only contend with the loss of some carries to rookie Lorenzo Booker so he should be in the flow of the game each week. Look for Brown to improve upon last seasons numbers and if he can add some TD's to the arsenal (only 6 in his first 2 seasons) he will make a solid #1 back.
12 Bush, Reggie RB NO 154 558 3.6 6 89 748 8.4 2 2 167
The electric Reggie Bush returns this season after a successful rookie campaign which saw him amass over 1300 total yards and 8 TD's. While Bush will still split time with McCallister, his upside is unlimited. Bush will see more than the 150 carries he received last year as the Saints will go to more balance between the running and passing games. It is doubtful that Bush will cross 1000 yards rushing, but his real value lies as a receiver out of the backfield.
13 Henry, Travis RB DEN 270 1211 4.5 7 18 78 4.3 0 1 177
Once a fantasy afterthought, Henry led many teams to fantasy titles last season as he rushed for over 1200 yards despite starting only 13 games. The offseason move to Denver vaults Henry into the second tier of running backs as you could put Angelina Jolie behind Shanahans offensive line and get a 1000 yard rusher. Look for Henry to have his best season yet as he will likely amass over 1300 yards and 10 TD's.
14 Williams, Cadillac RB TB 225 798 3.5 1 30 196 6.5 0 3 93
The Cadillac was stuck in neutral most of last season as he suffered mightily through his sophomore season in the NFL. That may have done some owners a favor as he will slide a ways down peoples draft boards this season. Don't let him slide too far. Cadillac has a retooled offense with the arrival of mammoth OT Janson from the Giants, and the QB situation should be much more settled with the return of Simms from injury and the stable of veterans including Garcia, Plummer, and Rattay that the Bucs added in the off season. We are predicting a breakthrough season for Williams as he will rumble for over 1100 yards and 7 TD's.
15 James, Edgerrin RB ARI 337 1159 3.4 6 38 217 5.7 0 3 161
Edge will try to turn things around after his a poor statistical season, by his standards, last year. He will benefit from a dynamic passing game in Arizona this season and began to gel with his offense to end 2006 closing out the year with 3 - 100 yard games in the final five contests. With the entry of Ken Wisenhunt and OL Coach Russ Grimm, things are looking good for the Edge to return to prominence as we predict over 1300 yards and 12 TD's from the Miami product.
16 Portis, Clinton RB WAS 127 523 4.1 7 17 170 10 0 0 107
Portis will attempt to return to form after suffering shoulder and hand injuries that ended his 2006 season. While Portis seems like an old player, he is only 25 years old. Betts proved last season that he is a capable back and you will be staring at a two-headed monster in Washington. Portis will get his carries though and look for a bounce-back season as he will prove to be a quality #2 running back on your squad.
17 Maroney, Laurence RB NE 193 814 4.2 6 22 194 8.8 1 1 135
The sky is the limit for the Patriots young running back. But many scouts and fantasy players will reach for Maroney, perhaps even into the first round. Don't make the same mistakes. While he is a very talented back and now the primary in New England, don't forget that he has never shouldered the load for an NFL club. Maroney was used to spell workhorse Corey Dillon last season. A full season in the NFL is grueling for the first two or three years on new backs. He may have a great season, but the risk is too great for him to be a first round back.
18 Benson, Cedric RB CHI 157 647 4.1 6 8 54 6.8 0 0 99
The same rule for Maroney applies to Benson. Benson has more time in the league, but has yet to prove that he can handle a 16 games NFL season as the primary back. Coach Lovie Smith feels that he is ready, however Adrian Peterson will get some carries as he has proved to be a useful slash and attack back. Benson and Maroney are both very talented, but the same applies here as it is simply too much risk to rely on one of these guys to be your #1 back heading into the season. Draft accordingly.
19 Jones, Julius RB DAL 289 1196 4.1 4 11 142 12.9 0 1 162
Jones will be a guy to watch this season as he enters a contract year in his fourth season. Jones eclipsed the 1000 yard marker last season, however lost goal line touches to young Marion Barber. That trend will continue, however with the departure of Bill Parcells, the perfect age of Jones (4th Year, 26 years old), and the importance of performing in a contract season, Jones looks primed to have a breakout season for the Cowboys. He will make a solid, high end #2 back this season and may be a key contributor to a fantasy title for teams.
20 Taylor, Chester RB MIN 303 1216 4 6 42 288 6.9 0 3 181
Taylor has steadily fallen down our draft board this season as we continue to evaluate his talent level. Despite the enormous Minnesota offensive line, Taylor managed only 4.0 YPC last season. While 4.0 is solid, other backs would have had more. Perhaps that was the reason for the Vikings to use their 1st round draft pick on former Oklahoma star Adrian Peterson. Peterson will cut into Taylor's reps this year and with the lack of skill and experience at QB, Taylor could provide owners with a major disappointment this season.
