The Rookie will be given every opportunity to earn the starting QB position in the winning starved franchise. Russell is big with a laser arm similar to that of McNabb. But typically, rookies are not a good choice to lean on at the QB position as their is a significant learning curve. Not to mention, his team is atrocious. Word out of Oakland is that Russell could sit the entire season to hold a clipboard and learn the system.

While Jackson sneaks into the top 32, it is only because he is a full time starter. Jackson failed to please anyone with his play last season after taking over for Brad Johnson. While he may have the skills to be a successful starting QB, this season he is nothing more than waiver wire material.
